CGC Deepens its Outreach in India
September 9-20, 2025
The Trajectories of Hope Foundation hosted Maja Groff, Convenor/Executive Director of the Climate Governance Commission, for an intensive visit to India, covering three cities (Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi). During the visit, Ms. Groff engaged with diverse experts, think tanks, universities, civil society representatives, and media to exchange knowledge and to advance dialogue on strengthening global shared governance to address the interlinked challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
Key highlights included: keynote addresses at Amity University, the Asian Law College, GD Goenka Gurgaon, KR Mangalam University, and Jawaharlal Nehru University; media interviews on the future of global cooperation; positive engagements with the private sector on the enormous progress made advancing the green energy transition in India; and, meetings and roundtable discussions with major think tanks such as the CEEW (a long-time collaborator), All India Disaster Mitigation Institute (AIDMI), NTS-IDSA, India Foundation, the Self Employed Women’s Association and the Center for Social and Economic Progress, among others. The engagements emphasized the urgent need for inclusive dialogue – with Global South realities fundamentally interwoven in international discourse and action –, institutional innovation, and ethical leadership to ensure a more just, peaceful, and sustainable international system.
The visit marked an important step in knowledge exchange and further building partnerships across India to foster transformative governance solutions for global challenges; see an overview piece on the visit featured here.
