During Global Green Growth Week 2025, Maja Groff, Convenor/Executive Director of the Climate Governance Commission, co-moderated a high-level session on “Technology and Artificial Intelligence for International Cooperation in Water Management,”co-hosted by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and K-Water. The session explored how AI and data-driven solutions can enhance climate resilience, promote sustainable water governance, and foster greater international collaboration.
Panelists shared global and national best practices, including case studies from Deltares (UNESCO AI for Water Report), the Environment Agency–Abu Dhabi (EAD), and Korea University’s work in the Mekong Basin. Experts such as James Tay (World Bank), Malle Fofana (GGGI), and Leo Park (Capture6) contributed policy and partnership perspectives to deepen dialogue on scaling technology-based cooperation.
Framed around the theme of “technology as a bridge for cooperation,” the discussion underscored the transformative role of artificial intelligence and digital innovation in advancing shared climate and water objectives—highlighting pathways for stronger cross-sectoral partnerships among governments, international organizations, and the private sector.
