October 26, 2025
At the 2025 GESDA Summit, Ms. Maja Groff, Convenor/Executive of the Climate Governance Commission, participated in the high-level panel discussion titled “Can We and Should We Rewrite Nature?” — a session exploring the ethical, scientific, and governance dimensions of emerging technologies that could reshape the natural world.
The discussion brought together leaders from science, diplomacy, industry, and civil society to examine how global governance frameworks can keep pace with rapid advances in biotechnology and climate interventions, ensuring that innovation is guided by responsibility, inclusivity, and long-term planetary well-being.
The session is available to rewatch via the GESDA YouTube channel, with highlights and photographs featured on GESDA’s Flickr page. Ms. Groff’s participation reflected the Commission’s ongoing engagement in bridging science and governance to promote foresight-driven, ethical solutions for global challenges
