Symposium on Climate Global Governance Reform

The Fiker Institute, in collaboration with the Climate Governance Commission, co-hosted a symposium titled “Climate Global Governance Reform: International and Regional Visions” on 11 October 2025 at the Fiker Institute headquarters in Dubai. The event brought together experts and thought leaders – both international and regional – to discuss the evolving architecture of the international governance system and explore how a renewed international rule of law can strengthen cooperation and accountability in addressing global climate challenges.
The symposium featured three focused sessions: “Climate and a Renewed International Rule of Law Package,” “Climate Governance Commission Near-Term and Medium-Term Proposals,” and “UN Charter Reform: The Way Forward.” Discussions centered on enhancing global institutions, advancing innovative governance mechanisms, and identifying pathways for reform to make international legal frameworks more responsive to the climate crisis.
The event contributed to ongoing global efforts to strengthen international cooperation and governance reform, fostering dialogue between regional and international experts committed to building a more just and effective multilateral system.
