In April 2025, the world passed a legally binding global climate agreement.

The Climate Governance Commission participated with the invitation of UNEP) in a speaker panel at the Istanbul Innovation Days Summit.

The Planetary Governance program hosted an international expert meeting. The meeting focused on the proposal to reform UNEP and establish a Global Environment Agency (GEA).

The CGC convened a workshop in collaboration with United Nations University on “Governing our Planetary Emergency”, with Commissioners.

Mary Robinson, Chair of the Climate Governance Commission, officially launched Mobilizing an Earth Governance Alliance (MEGA), an initiative co-led by the CGC.

At the 2023 Doha Forum, the CGC hosted an event where, amongst others, Commission co-Chair Maria Fernanda Espinosa,  Convenor Maja Groff, and Commissioner Nobuo Tanaka reviewed key takeaways from COP-28.
